What is the Disney World Disability Access Service (DAS)?

The Disney World Disability Access Service is a specialized accommodation designed to help guests with developmental disabilities who have difficulty waiting in traditional queue lines. It provides an alternative method for experiencing attractions by allowing guests to receive a return time that minimizes waiting in physical lines.

Who is eligible for the Disney World Disability Pass?

The pass is primarily intended for guests with developmental disabilities such as autism, cognitive disabilities, or other conditions that make traditional queuing challenging. Guests must be able to demonstrate that their disability impacts their ability to wait in standard lines. A Guest Relations cast member will evaluate each individual case during the registration process.

How do I apply for the Disability Access Service?

You can apply for the DAS either online through the Disney World website or in person at Guest Relations within any of the Disney World theme parks. Online pre-registration is recommended as it can streamline the process. You’ll need to participate in a brief video chat with a Disney cast member to discuss your specific accessibility needs.

How does the Disability Pass work in the parks?

Once registered, you’ll receive a DAS pass linked to your park ticket. When you want to ride an attraction, a cast member will provide you with a return time based on the current standby wait time. You can enjoy other park activities during this waiting period and return when your designated time arrives, using the Lightning Lane or alternate entrance.

Is there a cost for the Disney World Disability Pass?

The Disability Access Service is provided free of charge to eligible guests. It’s part of Disney’s commitment to making the parks accessible and enjoyable for all visitors with special needs.

Can I use the DAS for every attraction in the park?

The DAS can be used for most attractions with traditional queues. However, it cannot be used for attractions with no wait or those that already offer alternate boarding options. Each attraction reservation is made individually, and you can only have one active DAS return time at a moment.

How long is the Disability Pass valid?

The DAS is typically valid for 60 days from the initial registration date. If you’re planning a multi-day visit, the pass will remain active throughout your entire Disney World trip within that 60-day period.

Do I need medical documentation to obtain the DAS?

While extensive medical documentation is not required, you should be prepared to explain how the disability impacts your ability to wait in standard queue lines. Disney cast members are trained to have compassionate, supportive conversations about accessibility needs.

Can I transfer the Disability Pass to another family member?

The DAS is typically linked to the specific guest with the disability and cannot be transferred. The registered guest and up to five additional guests can use the pass together as a group.

What if my disability is not visible?

Disney recognizes that many disabilities are not immediately apparent. The Guest Relations team is trained to have respectful, understanding conversations about accessibility needs without requiring invasive personal details.
